The BEAUVALLET group owes its success to Bernard LEGUILLE who, in 1990, rallied various companies to form a group able to supply meat products (cut products and muscles) across the country.
In 1991, the first meat cutting company, Beauvallet-Pithiviers, was bought out in Pithiviers. Close to Paris, its strategic position meant it was able to market the products in the Paris region as well as in the western and northern parts of France.
In 1993, the acquisition of Beauvallet-Ambérieu enabled Beauvallet to offer products adapted to contract catering in the north-eastern and south-eastern parts of France.
In 1994, Hapi Trading was set up in Pithiviers to develop a commercial offer for muscles selected within Europe and in South America. In 2003, a subsidiary, Hapi Comércio Alimenticios LTDA, was created in Brazil. In 2005, yet another branch was set up in Cholet, specialized in frozen goods. In the same year, Movidis joined Hapi Trading and the subsidiary Hapi Iberica was launched in Santander, in Spain.
To optimize coverage of the south-western part of France, the group took over the company Plainemaison in Limoges. This company was mainly acknowledged on the carcass market at the time. On this same site, a cutting plant was set up and a fresh minced beef chain was established.
In 1998, the group took control of the company Boucherie de l’Ile de France (BIF). This company specifically intervened on the catering market for haute cuisine.
With the intention of developing its traditional wholesale activity and strengthening its market positions with regard to the Limousin species and top-of-the-range quality-label meats, the group created the public company CVM in 1998 and took over the private company Baylet in 2000. In 2002, it bought out Bucheraud, a company specialized in veal. To pursue its expansion beyond the Limousin region, the company Ducasse et Associés joined the group in 2005.
In 2004, the group decided to create LMC Gourmet in charge of developing new ready-to-use and ready-to-eat foods, in partnership with selected factories.
